Repertoire (both In-person or Virtual Competition)
Young Stars (5-7):One or up to Five short Pieces of free choice, preferably from a simplified repertoire appropriate for their level. 5 minutes Max.
Young Talents (8-11):One orTwo Contrasting Pieces from Baroque, Classical, Romantic or contemporary period. 8 minutes Max.
Teen Virtuosos(12-14):One or Two Contrasting Pieces from Baroque, Classical, Romantic or contemporary period. 10 minutes Max.
Young Professionals(15-18):One or Two Contrasting Piecesfrom Baroque, Classical, Romantic or contemporary period. 15 minutes Max.
All pieces must be performed from memory.
Competition Phases
Application is available on October 1, 2024 and close on December 1, 2024.
Option 1- Online Competition: Judging based on video submissions. Award-winners will be notified on December 10, 2024 through the page -announcement of result.
Winners' concert and Awards Ceremony at YMS Concert Series will be held on December 15, 2024, at The DiMenna Center for the Classical Music in New York City.
All awards-recipients from both online and in-person competition will be eligible and got invited to perform again at the Winner's Concert and awards Ceremony under organization of YMS Concert Series. However, there is an application fee $100 to participate the event, which the fee will cover the partial cost of professional photography, printed certificate, and trophy awards.
All 1st Place winners will be eligible and have the opportunity to win the Grand Prize(s) on the day of in-person winner's concert and awards ceremony on December 15, 2024, at DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Cary Hall.
1st Place, 90 and up, Certificate, Trophy, and performance opportunity at the Winner's Concert and Award Ceremony
2nd Place, 85 and up, Certificate, Trophy, and performance opportunity at the Winner's Concert and Award Ceremony
3rd Place, 75 and up, Certificate, Trophy, and performance opportunity at the Winner's Concert and Award Ceremony
